Laser Cosmetic Tattoo Removal

Cosmetic tattoos are a wonderful way to enhance your natural beauty, and they can make mornings a breeze by minimising the amount of time that it takes to get ready for the day. However, for a number of reasons, people sometimes fall out of love with them and wish to have them removed. Did your cosmetic tattoo artist did a poor job in the past? Or maybe your microbladed brows have faded over the years and you'd like to have them removed or retouched up? Or perhaps you're just not a fan of permanent eyeliner any more? No matter what your reason, if you're not in love with your cosmetic tattoos anymore, then Laser Tattoo Removal at FabulashBrows could be the answer that you're looking for!

What is Laser Tattoo Removal and how does it work?

Laser tattoo removal is the safest, most effective, and most popular method of removing cosmetic tattoos. During the procedure, a laser is guided over the cosmetic tattoo, sending pulses of laser beams through the skin to target the tattoo pigment. These pulses of laser energy break down the ink pigment into much smaller particles, which are then eliminated through the body's immune system. Your body does this by engaging the immune response and lymphatic system in your body to flush the broken down particles out of your body.

Here at Fabulash, we currently use the popular and highly effective Q-Switch Laser, and we are exciting to bring the PicoSure PicoSecond Laser to our business very soon!

Why would I want Cosmetic Tattoo Laser Removal?

The most common reasons that clients book in with us to have laser removal is to have previous cosmetic tattoos lightened enough so that our talented practitioners can go over the tattoo to give the client a fresh cosmetic tattoo that they love, and to remove previously cosmetically tattooed brows and eyeliners. However, we understand that there are many reasons why you may be interested in cosmetic tattoo removal, so if you're interested, email us to enquire.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required for cosmetic tattoo laser removal varies from client to client, and can be dependant on a number of factors. The main factors which impact the number of sessions required are the following;

1. How dark/saturated the tattoo is

The colour of the tattoo can affect how long it takes for the laser to break down the ink pigment into particles. Generally, darker tattoos absorb the laser light better, so require fewer sessions to break down the ink, whereas lighter tattoos reflect more of the laser light and thus don't absorb as much, requiring more sessions to break down all of the ink into small particles. The more saturated the cosmetic tattoo is, the more pigment that there is for the laser to have to break down, thus requiring more sessions.

2. The quality and ingredients in the pigment

Cheaper pigments tend to be made of lower quality ingredients, and often have a combination of more ingredients within the pigment. These cheaper pigments generally are more stubborn to remove, and the laser breaks them down into bigger chunks than good quality pigment, therefore taking longer to remove.

3. Each individuals immune system

The tattoo removal process is heavily dependant on your immune system, given that it is your immune response and lymphatic system that dispose of the broken down pigment. The stronger that your immune system is, the quicker that your body will dispose of the broken down ink particles, and the sooner you will see the results of your laser removal. Weaker immune systems take longer to dispose of the particles and thus require more laser removal sessions to gain results.

4. The type of laser used

Different laser technologies can have different success rates, with the state of the art Picosure machine which we are investing in here at Fabulash being the gold standard in cosmetic tattoo removal.

5. Location on the body and scarring in the area

All of these variables, and more, have an impact on the number of sessions required for each individuals cosmetic tattoo removal. Your practitioner will have a consult with you and evaluate your tattoo, providing you with a realistic treatment regime to help you to best reach your desired results

How often will my sessions be?

It typically takes 4-6 weeks for your body to absorb and dispose of the broken down ink particles, however each individual and each tattoo varies. Treatments generally happen 6-8 weeks apart, which allows for the skin to have adequate time to recover, and your body enough time to dispose of the broken down ink particles.

Will the laser treatment leave scarring?

Here at Fabulash, we take every precaution that we can to minimise the risk of scarring occurring from your tattoo removal. Our highly trained technicians are the first measure we take to keep the risk of scarring minimal. Having a poorly trained, unexperienced technician can lead to poor removal and scarring, hence why it is important to put the removal procedure into the hands of skilled technicians such as ours.

Another measure that we take at fabulash to minimise your risk of scarring is the highest quality of machine that we use. The state of the art laser removal machines at fabulash ensure the greatest success in cleanly and efficiently removing cosmetic tattoos.

Is the removal process painful?

30 minutes prior to the laser removal, we apply numbing cream to the area. This minimises the pain felt during the process and makes it very manageable. Clients have compared the pain to being similar to that of getting a tattoo done, but very fast. Your practitioner here at FabulashBrows will work with you to find the best comfort option for you based on your personal needs.

What to expect post treatment

During the treatment, you may notice some slight whitening/'frosting' of the skin in the treated area. This will subside completely once the treatment is complete. Mild swelling and some redness may occur after the session.

If you haven't had success with past tattoo removal services, why should you try us?

Prior to the launch of the Picosecond, Q-switch lasers had been considered the gold standard for removing cosmetic tattoos. The Q-switch technology utilises thermal energy to heat up and break apart the ink particles. The new Picosecond Picosure technology sends ultra short pulses that hit the ink particle with a pressure so great that the ink shatters into tiny, dust-like particles. Because the particles are so small, they are more readily absorbed and disposed of by the body. PicoSure Picosecond technology has proven successful in treating the darkest, most stubborn blue and green inks, as well as previously treated, stubborn tattoos that were not successfully cleared in the past.
